Bomb Traps Basic Information

Bombs, Giant Bombs, and Air Bombs are traps capable of really causing some hurt to enemy troops. Although they’ll rarely be responsible for saving your base from total annihilation, bombs can take out certain units that will force your attacker to rethink their strategy or desperately toss units where they thought they had things under control.

(In-Game Descriptions)

“Nothing says ‘STAY OUT’ quite like a good old-fashioned hidden bomb.”

“When you’re looking for a Big Boom, you need the Giant Bomb.”

“Latest invention in the field of flying pest control. This trap can blast multiple air units in a small area.”

How well you place these traps will determine how effective they are when it comes to defending your base. The best part about bombs is that the better you become at placing them, the better you get at predicting where they are hidden during your own attacks.

Bomb Trap Strategies

Bombs are very cheap traps that are only strong enough to kill the weakest of troops. This is because they don’t inflict a lot of damage alone and have a small radius. However, in clusters they can certainly cause trouble to a group of Archers, Goblins, and Barbarians. Recommended Bomb placement is around your outer walls or in a group surrounding a defensive building

Giant Bombs are much more powerful because they inflict more damage and have a wider radius, but you have less of them available. For this reason you should place them where you’re sure enemy units will approach, such as in between your outer wall and any outside buildings. Placing Giant Bombs inside your base is also recommended if you’re often finding yourself the victim of Hog Rider attacks.

Air Bombs are very effective when placed near Air Defense structures since this results in more damage being dealt on oncoming aerial troops. This is recommended because although Air bombs are strong against Minions and Balloons, they barely scratch Dragons and Lava Hounds. Even so, it’s not a bad idea to place one or two outside your walls to get rid of weaker air units approaching your base.
