Clash of Clans Grand Warden Basic Information

The Grand Warden completely changed the game once Town Hall 11 was released. He is an old looking dude that is a mix between the Wizards and Healers. He has very long range for his staff zap and can sit back from a distance and slowly chip away at the enemy defense. As soon as he is deployed he starts releasing slow bursts of Life Aura that heals troops within his heal radius. He also has a special ability that gives all troops and Heroes within his healing radius a big boost.  When COC Grand Warden is in defensive mode he will turn into a statue and strike the attacking troops with his Wizard like zap.

COC Grand Warden Attack Strategies

The best offensive strategies for the Grand Warden involve dropping him after the Archer Queen, Barbarian King, and other troops. That way he can stay safe from damage, help destroy the enemy defense units from far behind, and be constantly healing your troops. Since you can only use his special ability once, you need to make sure you are using it at the best time possible. If you use it too early you will not get the full benefit from the Life Aura, but if you wait too long your troops will die before they can get the heal power.

When it comes to which troops you should pair with the Grand Warden Clash of Clans has left lots of options open, because almost all of them seem to work well. It just really depends on the army you like using and how much experience you have with the Warden. If you have him, that means you are a Town Hall 11. So, it is probably best to use Valkyries, Bowlers, Healers and maybe Witches. These days Bowlers and Valkyries are the best if you want any hope of getting a 3 star attack. Goho, Queen walks, and Gobowlho are very popular. If you use Healers with your Grand Warden you really need to scout out the base and identify where all of the air threats are.

Clash of Clans Grand Warden Defensive Strategy

The best place for the Grand Warden is in one of two spots: (1) in the middle of your base so that he can stay safe and help kill attacking troops (2) towards the perimeter to one side of your base to help deter people from attacking and taking out your Eagle Artillery.  For a TH 11 Eagle Artillery is very important. If you allow your Eagle to be taken out easily than chances are the attacker will be able to power to the center of your base with Golems, Bowlers, and/or Valkyries and at the very least 2 star you. Nobody is going to purposely attack your Grand Warden, so if possible put it in a place where it can protect your Eagle Artillery and stay safe at the same time.

Grand Warden COC Tips

Unlike the Archer Queen and Barbarian King, the Grand Warden is not a very strong attacker. He is meant to support your army and heal them while they crush the enemy base. If you practice a lot and find an army that works great for you, then the Grand Warden will make you that much better. The Life Aura will make it so that your Bowlers, Valks, and/or Wizards live that much longer. And as you probably already know, sometimes it comes down to a very small amount of hitpoints that can make the difference between 1, 2, and 3 star attacks.

We recommend buying the Grand Warden as one of the first things you do as a new Town Hall 11. The next most important things are getting the Eagle Artillery, your extra defensive units, and upgrading all of the defenses that gain a level when you reach TH 11 like Archer Towers, Cannons, Wizard Towers, etc.

Grand Warden levels and Grand Warden stats will always change in this crazy world of Clash of Clans. So you need to stay on top of the updates and make sure you are using him in the best way possible.
